Good systems make compliance quieter
Most compliance trouble is not bad intent. It is capacity, handoffs, and documentation that was written under time pressure. Those are fixable.

The rules you are working inside
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act sets federal obligations: child find, evaluation, eligibility, an individualized program, least restrictive environment, and procedural safeguards. In Texas, the Texas Education Agency administers those obligations and publishes state guidance, monitoring expectations, and dispute resolution processes.
We do not restate specific timelines here. Confirm them against current TEA guidance and the federal regulations, because exceptions apply and rules are updated.
A short internal audit
- Can a substitute find each student's accommodations in under a minute, without opening the full plan?
- Does every goal have a named measure and a stated schedule for collecting it?
- Do service minutes on paper match what staffing can actually deliver this year?
- Is there one owner for each transfer student packet, with a date?
- Do families receive drafts before meetings as a matter of routine?

Support for special education staff
SpEd Ally is our sister project, built for the people running special education inside schools: coaching and training for teachers, case managers, and campus leads. If your team is stretched, it is one place to look.
